Don’t listen to their bullshit.

OK, the gloves are off! I just saw what those little bastards wrote in the last post and boy am I steamed. Yes I’ve got all kinds of doggie beds around the house. and yes they always seem to be empty, but that’s not my doing.

If those little pricks (and by the way, since they were neutered that is an accurate description, not an insult), want to play rough then I’m up for it. Here’s why the doggie beds are always unoccupied.

Don’t let the dumb expression on the Beagle’s face fool you, he’s one cunning canine, there is no part of the house that he doesn’t call home, and the Pug is no better.

I think you are starting to get the picture (pictures actually). Now as for me making them sleep with each other so I can get some dirty doggie pics, that’s just plain crap. Those little perverts like to sleep together…

Need more proof? Ok fine, try these…

I’ve been accused in the past of setting this stuff up (Melissa), but to prove these are not fakes,  I’ve saved the best for last…

These are a couple of the Beagle’s less successful attempts to get into bed. The first one was a few months ago and I still don’t know how he managed to do it, but that’s him inside a doona cover, as you can see, the opening is only about 18" wide. The second I took this morning after I began to wonder why he wasn’t coming out for breakfast, he was so tangled up that I had to unwrap him.

So there you go, if those little punks what to try something like that again, I’ve got plenty more pictures. And btw, don’t bother calling the SPCA (or in Oz, the RSPCA), they know that I am not cruel to animals as I’ve rescued around 10 in the past few years.

  1. Oh ToTo.
    I don’t think we’re in Kansas anymore!

  2. Do your dogs ALWAYS sleep? I know that they do ride in the truck with you on occasion, but what type of sleeping pill do you give these poor dogs? AS far as rescuing animals, are you counting the roo in the road? Cerealously, I love the pictures and your dogs.

  3. sigh…puppy pictures…always brings a smile to my face.

  4. Why are you always bringing me into things?!

My favorite is #7, it looks like the pug dive-bombed into the beagle.

You have a lot of blankets. Is this a requirement for living in Australia? If I ever move I’d like to be up to speed.

  5. Awwwwwwww!!!

  6. Beagle-butt for a pillow…I think BUDDY is wearing the dumb expression.

Bentley reminds me of Reece Witherspoon in “Legally Blonde”…on the surface, dumb as dirt, but underneath, nothin’ but Mensa.

  7. LOL my dogs think they rule my house as well. They are all the time kickin me outta bed so that they can claim it *sigh*… whats a parent to do?

  8. So, this is how they recover from a long session of making doggie porn? Or was this part of it, like the outtakes? Those poor, poor animals.

  9. Swampy – of course they don’t always sleep. They eat and poop too ya know, ah derr!

Melissa – hey I can’t help it if you are always the one accusing me of things. It just looks like there’s lots of blankets, the pictures were taken over several seasons. Plus we don’t have central heating.

Robin- did you mean “Beagley Blonde”?

Wolfbaby – I don’t know about you, but adoption has crossed my mind.

Mark – this was part of a training session, I’m trying to get them to try something other than “doggie style”.

  10. It has crossed my mind a time or two… or three

  11. WT, ha! Sounds like a Pamelaism to me :).

  12. Stop being paranoid. I just asked you if it was some type of Aussie requirement. I didn’t say you were hoarding blankets, and if you are, that’s totally your business. I won’t judge.

  13. That’s tough, WT, but I assure you it can be done… I’ve heard.

  14. Gosh, I don’t think I’ve ever been as comfortable as they look!

    Very cute pictures!

  15. Melissa – I told you I need all those blankets, can we just leave it at that and move on, please.

And besides there’s no way Oz would have a bedding requirement that must be adhered to by everyone, or if you like, a blanket policy.

  16. Hahaha, my old beagle took over my bed at a very early age. In fact, at the time my younger brother and I shared a room and somehow my dog managed to lay claim to both our beds.

One of his favorite things to do, aside from sleeping snug against the sleeping person thereby overheating them, was to crawl under the bedsheets when they were otherwise unoccupied and turn around and around until they were wrapped very tightly against him. He’s sleep that way as long as he could be occasionally he’d find it difficult to breathe and somehow he’d wriggle just his nose outside of the blanket.

  17. My Kitty Ursa-boo liked to sleep like that, on a pillow and under the covers. I miss her.

You are owned by several animals, it’s their world. You just live in it. :O)
